this past week I Shared an article on my social media by DJ Bailey regarding this DJ who had fallen out of love with drum and bass back in 2007 but had sent out a few new drum and bass tunes to a few DJ’s in the scene.
To people who have grown into dnb since 2007 then you will have only heard the name through his many tracks that are still being played across the land. ‘Super Sharp Shooter’, ‘Reach Out’, ‘Casino Royale’, ‘Ska’ & ‘Stepping stones’ just to name a few of his dnb tunes over the years, as well as the hugely successful 2 step garage tune ‘138 Trek’ which reached number 27 in the UK charts.
DJ Zinc is another who has been in and around pirate radio from the early 90’s playing on Eruption FM before going on to play at virtually every big event around from Desire to Dreamscape and everything in between. So I was chuffed to recently see his name on a flyer and now to read that he has made drums again as DJ Zinc truly is one of the scenes originals.
This week’s set has him alongside Stevie Hyper D in 1997 for another huge brand ‘Slammin Vinyl’ at the iconic Bagley’s warehouse in Kings Cross. You would think it was the midnight set on NYE rather than the last set of the night with the selection and vibes thrown down by Zinc & Hyper D on this one.
