Shy FX is a name so well known in drum and bass that people both inside and looking in on the rave scene know his name due to his commercial success. But this is a guy who made his first track in the same year he was doing his exams in school at aged just 16. This first track released in 1992 was called ‘Jungle Love’ so you knew where he was going with his sound.
It was 2 years later in 1994 where he divided opinions within the scene with his unmistakable collaboration with UK Apache bringing us ‘Original Nutter’ which is still being rinsed in raves across the land today. In 2001 he reached number 7 in the UK charts after he teamed up with T Power and Di and another anthem was born in ‘Shake your body’
Then came Digital Soundboy and a whole heap of tracks that a whole new generation embraced with ‘Feelings’ and ‘On the run’ being the stand out tracks on his Diary of a digital soundboy LP.
When looking through the collection of set’s to share I was met with a list of UK events such as Telepathy and Jungle Fever, so was spoilt for choice. But this was one many may not have heard due to it being in Bern in Switzerland with MC Fearless. And as you will hear this is a fine example of the great exportation that Shy FX and many other artists have done over the years spreading drum and bass across the world.
