So Logan, tell us about Low Down Deep and the concept behind the label, what is it about artists you select to be on the label that makes you want them representing LDD?
I started the label up in 2006, the main reason behind this was to get exclusive tracks from artists. I also started Low down Deep events in 2006 at club Herbal, London
The website is very interesting and interactive and always has new content, how do you keep it so up to date with your busy schedule?
Lots of late nights and hard work, plus, there is a lot of artists on the label who are all busy, so new stuff is always happening
Low Down Deep have hosted some successful nights including Shindig, Soundclash and other tour nights around Europe Low Down Deep is 10 years old this year, are there any plans for a massive anniversary bash?
In 2016, we will be 10 years old, we are definitely going to be throwing a party, when and where is a bit of a mystery at the moment.
It was released that LDD would be running a night at Sunbeatz in Ibiza this year, can you reveal any secrets that we can look forward to? Go on just one!!
I would love to, but I have been so busy with HBS v5 and Evil B’s birthday bash that I haven’t got around to sorting anything with Sunbeatz yet.
You have been part of this ever growing scene for many years now, and it’s been in your life for even longer, as many people know, your Dad is Mickey Finn, how do you see the scene in the next few years, it must be a lot different from your younger days, why do you think it’s changed so much?
I can see the scene growing even bigger, Artists such as Sigma have broadened the outlook on Drum & Bass. The DnB rave scene has not changed in my point of view, the music has evolved and probably gained a few extra beats per minute, but that is about it
The Firm & Sit on my Bass are two of my favourite LDD albums, absolutely banging tracks from well respected artists, any plans for any more to add to the collection?
We have another album coming at the end of this year with various artists involved, its probably going to be coming out beginning of December.
Would you ever think of signing any liquid or tech drum and bass tunes to the label or are you just looking for the underground ‘jump up’ side of dnb?
Low Down Deep’s meaning is underground, so we aim to release only dance floor DnB !
Thanks for the interview!
